Documentation: Week 1
This week went pretty smoothly. I organized a colour heart scavenger hunt with the children and it was a hit!

There was also an instance where I encouraged a child’s independence. She was struggling to climb up the ladder but with a little encouragement and gesturing she made it!

Mentor Feedback:
This week my mentor had a lot of positive things to say, everything is going great so far. However she did say I should take on more group times. I have definitely taken a back seat due to not being as confident. Going forward I am going to learn more songs and felt board story’s and make more of an effort! 🙂
Documentation: Week 2
I really wanted to focus on helping children get those big body movements out. So I started this focus by using the crayons Kathleen let me borrow. The children really loved this activity and allowed them to get all those movements out so they were able to fully engage in our morning group time.

Documentation: Week 3

This week we decided to present the children with hopscotch! It went really well and has now turned into something the children want to do almost everyday. We also had another educator who used to work at the centre for over 10 years come to visit and give us some pointers and ideas. It was really useful to pick her brain and hear everything she had to say. I now have so many new ideas I want to implement in our room and I am so excited to get that started.
documentation: Week 4
This week I continued my journey with finding new ways to help the children get those big body movements out. So this week we did an obstacle course! The children really loved this idea and I was surprised to see that even the infants wanted to participate. I would even say the infants loved it more than the toddlers. Going forward when I do an obstacle course again I am definitely going to make two, one directed towards infants and the other directed towards toddlers.

week 5:
this week and a little of last week I left out these bottles of water to help challenge the children with moving heavy objects. It went really well and the children really enjoyed them. I have definitely considered making more, or creating something similar to switch it up.
we also added a mini diner set up in the room and it has been a hit! On one side it had a table and chairs and on the other side it had a mini kitchen. We even had to grab chairs from the kitchen so they could all sit around this mini table!
